Characteristics of ESTJs

Fast, Outspoken and Productive

Os ESTJs são um dos tipos mais energéticos e faladores, e talvez nenhum tipo supere um ESTJ quando se trata de velocidade. Quer seja a andar, a falar, a executar, a decidir - seja o que for - eles são os mais rápidos. Os ESTJs normalmente realizam mais na hora do almoço do que a maioria das pessoas realizam num dia, e podem tornar-se viciados em ser "produtivos" e verificar as coisas da sua lista pessoal ou de trabalho "a fazer" a cada minuto, se não tiverem cuidado. Os ESTJs são altamente extrovertidos e abertos a compartilhar suas vidas, e são muito mais propensos do que seus colegas ISTJ a pensar em voz alta e deixar poucos pensamentos relevantes não ditos.

Detail-Oriented

Muitas vezes capazes de citar o que os outros disseram nas conversas dos dias anteriores, os ESTJs dão e podem absorver muita informação detalhada e factual sobre a qual tendem a basear as suas decisões. Ao contrário dos tipos intuitivos, os ESTJs não gostam de sessões prolongadas de brainstorming ou de receber uma "página em branco" de um projeto em que tenham de criar a visão a partir do zero. Preferem ter o máximo de informação possível quando iniciam um projeto, e são excelentes a pegar num processo existente e a ajustá-lo para atingir a maxima eficiência.

Direct, Transparent

ESTJs are “off the charts” logic driven - instantly able to see what decision makes the most sense objectively, given the facts. They are perhaps the type least likely to make a decision that doesn’t make logical sense on paper. They tend to be thick skinned when it comes to feedback or disagreements, and are great at both giving and receiving very specific direction and instruction. As one of the most transparent types, ESTJs are mostly “what you see is what you get.” This can mean that at times they are quite direct (to the point of being blunt) in an effort to get things done. They tend not to sugar-coat their feedback or reactions as much as others in order to avoid detracting from the clarity of message.

Proactive, Take-Charge

ESTJs leave nothing to chance. As THE most proactive of the 16 types, they don’t wait for it to all “work out”. . . they MAKE it all work out! Typically the most effective way to complete a task is very clear to them. Since they have a strong sense of responsibility and desire to be in control, they have to be careful not to over-manage and under-delegate when working with direct reports. When there is a clear objective, ESTJs often take charge very confidently, even in groups of people they don’t know well.
