Type and Conflict

Navigating Type-Based Conflict

Overview

Personality differences often amplify conflicts, making resolution harder due to varying needs and priorities. The conflict can be big or small; difficult conversations through major conflicts. We tend to skip certain steps in conflict resolution based on our type, and this course provides a simple framework for resolving issues most smoothly when they do arise.

Skills Gained

Participants leave with three new skills that can be used to improve virtually all of their interactions:

Type and Conflict - Explore
Explore

Use the perceiving mode to gather information and understand where the other person is coming from.

Type and Conflict - Evaluate
Evaluate

Use the thinking-feeling modes to consider both the values involved and the logic/consequences.

Type and Conflict - Closure
Closure

Use the judging mode to seek closure with next steps and new behavior going forward.

“I think the TypeCoach tools and training has really given us a common language across the whole organization. The thing I love about them is that they are incredibly simple to take on board and then it becomes extremely easy to adapt how you communicate with people. And, by having a common language across the whole organization, it’s something that really holds us all together.”
